Coming Home to Your Body

A Live 2-Hour Somatic Workshop for Safety,
Nervous System Awareness & Embodied Choice

What if your body isn’t the problem,

but the place where healing begins?

Coming Home to Your Body  is a live somatic workshop exploring how we come into relationship with the body through movement, somatic practice, meditation, reflection, and nervous system awareness.

We explore how to meet what is present in the body

including pain, exhaustion, tension, anxiety, or numbness

with care, trust, and openness

rather than correction or control.

This is a space for both listening and expression:

learning to be with what is present in the body

and also exploring movement, voice, and embodied practice

as ways of giving form to what has been held or unspoken.

“Lauren’s guidance is so rich. I feel like I'm glowing.”

Together We Will Explore:

  • grounding & embodied safety

  • awareness of stress and protection patterns

  • movement as presence and embodied listening

  • expression, voice, and movement as ways of giving form to what the body holds

  • choice, agency & inner capacity

  • the body as communication, not problem

This is an experiential and reflective workshop grounded in attention, presence, and relationship with the body as it is.

This work may be particularly supportive for those navigating stress, burnout, chronic pain, illness, trauma, overwhelm, or disconnection from the body.

No previous experience necessary.

About Lauren

I’m Lauren Barri Holstein, a somatic practitioner, movement educator, and founder of The Kora.

My work explores the relationship between the body, nervous system, healing, expression, and embodied agency.

I’ve spent over 20 years working within rehabilitative movement and somatic practice, alongside 15 years facilitating embodied feminist work in universities and arts institutions across the UK and Europe.

My teaching integrates movement, nervous system awareness, meditation, reflection, and expressive somatic practice, and is deeply informed by both professional training and lived experience navigating chronic pain and illness.

I hold a PhD in Contemporary Feminism and Embodiment from Queen Mary University of London and originally trained as a rehabilitative Pilates teacher at the Kane School in New York.

"Despite exploring discomfort, I felt safe.

I owe that to Lauren's masterful facilitation skills."
